Hiking near Estepona

Pinsapos Walk

Distance: Approximately 1.5 km

Getting there: From Estepona, take the MA-557/MA-8301 road toward Genalguacil. When you reach Puerto de Peñas Blancas, continue for another 2.5 km. You will see a sharp bend on the left with an information sign and parking.

Meeting point: Parking at the bend, right where the trail begins.

Highlights: Spanish fir forest, a unique species in the region.

Benahavís Bridge Route and Guadalmina Panoramic Views

Level: Easy-Moderate

Distance: ~5.5 km (circular)

Getting there: From the bridge parking lot, begin the trail following the riverbank and ascending along paths between pine and cork oak trees.

Meeting point: The bridge over the Guadalmina.

Highlights: Shaded trail with views of the canyon, native vegetation, and a peaceful setting

Angosturas Gorge (Charco de las Mozas)

Level: Moderate

Duration: ~4 km (~2 hours with a swim)

Getting there: Take the A-7175 road toward Benahavís. At km 6.2, youll see the gorge entrance and parking.

Meeting point: Gorge entrance from the "Charco de las Mozas" natural pool.

Highlights: A hike through a natural canyon with swimming areas, caves, and rocky areas. Ideal in summer.


Montemayor Castle from Benahavís

Level: Moderate-Difficult

Distance: Between 4 and 6 km of challenging climb (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes - 2 hours)

Getting there: From the center of Benahavís, take the road uphill (before the residential complexes) and park near a stately villa. Walk along the marked path to the castle.

Meeting point: Parking area next to a large house on the way up from the village.

Highlights: Castle ruins at 579 m with spectacular views of the valley, the coast, and, on a clear day, as far as Gibraltar or Africa
